September has been a big month for Coincover, as well as doing our first press announcement, we also took a trip Stateside to showcase the Coincover offering, along with ten other insurtech companies from the UK.
As part of the Department for International Trade’s (DIT) 2019 Mission to San Francisco and the Insurtech Conference in Las Vegas, Coincover was invited to take part in a weeklong program of meetings with VCs, potential partners, investors and regulators in Silicon Valley. The aim of the mission is to showcase the innovation and speciality areas that are growing and thriving in the UK. Needless to say, we were honoured to be included in the program and, at this early stage of the Coincover business, it’s been a hugely valuable experience.
The DIT Head of Insurance and Capital Markets, Alexander Milne, said of the mission:
“The UK insurtech market is one of the world leaders in innovation and is already reshaping the current insurance industry. With London being an unparalleled global hub for finance, insurance and tech startups, there is a unique opportunity for the UK insurtech sector to help position the UK as the global insurtech hub and the number one destination in the world for insurance. We’re delighted to support this mission to help foster closer links between our start-ups and our US friends and partners.”
Our founder, David, has flown out to the US this week to take on the Insurtech Mission, alongside companies such as insurance innovator Bought By Many, SaaS platform Evari and robo-advice engine Sherpa. You can follow David’s updates from the US by following his LinkedIn or Twitter feed.
