In digital assets, mistakes tend to be final. A lost key or compromised account can be difficult to recover from, and transactions are often irreversible.
Altify, the South African digital asset investment platform, has extended CoinCover's recovery and protection products on its app and web platform, covering both retail and institutional investors.
The integration is designed to support recovery where a key is lost or a recovery process is unsuccessful with CoinCover protection services extending to eligible digital assets held on the platform.
Sean Sanders, CEO at Altify, said:
"Ask most people in our markets why they don't hold digital assets and you won't hear about returns or fees. You'll hear about someone who lost everything to a hack, or a forgotten key. Adding CoinCover is about taking that objection seriously — for a first-time investor as much as a financial institution."
Anthony Yeung, Chief Commercial Officer at CoinCover, said:
"Recovery has moved from a nice-to-have to a baseline expectation, for platforms serving retail investors as much as for banks. Working with Altify also extends our strong base in African markets, where appetite for digital assets is growing quickly."
